CBS4 Blocking bike lanes?
CBS4 Called out Denver officials for not plowing protected bike lanes in the county, hours later the City/County got the last laugh. Check this out, it seems as if the station was blocking the bike lane while doing their report, and it also looks like the news vehicle has expired license plates.

FOX 31 & Colorado's Own Channel 2 have launched new newscasts.
After years of talking about it (FOX Television Stations was talking about doing this as early as 2005), FOX31 has launched weekend morning newscasts beginning today. FOX31 Morning news @ 6AM & FOX31 Morning news @ 7AM.
KWGN also launched weekend morning newscasts today. Colorado's Own Channel 2 News @ 8AM & Colorado's Own Channel 2 News @ 9AM.
This is the first time I can recall KWGN having weekend morning newscasts since the early 2000s or so.

KXRM FOX21 back on DirecTV.
After 56 Days and 22 hours the dispute between Nexstar & AT&T DirecTV is finally over.
In Colorado this means that FOX21 (KXRM) & SOCO CW (KXTU-LD) are back on DirecTV. It's unknown if the upcoming start to the 2019/2020 NFL season had something to do with it or if it was the threat of Hurricane Dorian possibly hitting Florida this weekend that pushed the two sides to get an agreement together.
(Nexstar owns several stations in FL: WMBB in Panama City, WFLA & WTTA in Tampa.)
***This also marks my 100th post here on the blog, thanks for reading folks***

Denise Plante is leaving Colorado & Company and KUSA.
Denise Plante is leaving Colorado & Company after almost 16 years. However she will still be seen occasionally on Tegna's Daily Blast Live. She has been Colorado & Company's host since the program began in the fall of 2003. For anyone that doesn't know Colorado & Company is basically a 1 hour infomercial that airs on 9NEWS weekdays at 10AM and separates the 3rd & 4th hours of NBC's TODAY.

KXRM Fox 21 has been pulled from DirecTV.
Lou from Pueblo West, CO e-mailed me this morning to let me know that Nexstar Broadcasting stations were off of DirecTV and have been since early July.
In Colorado that means FOX21 KXRM & KXTU-LD (CW-SOCO) have been pulled from DirecTV. While Nexstar owns KREX5 (CBS), KFQX FOX4 & KGJT-CD (My Network TV) in Grand Junction, the Grand Junction stations are unaffected because DirecTV doesn't carry local stations in western Colorado.
Here is their report on the blackout.
This is a dispute of course about fees, & Nexstar wanting to be compensated for it's stations, much the same as to why CBS has pulled stations across the country. By the way this dispute and the one by CBS mean a lot of CBS stations across the country are off of AT&T/DirecTV.
I have a counter at the top of the blog going for this dispute as well.

CBS4 Has been pulled from DirecTV.
Effective today (July 20, 2019) at Noon KCNC was pulled from DirecTV due to a carriage dispute. This is a common occurrence these days as local tv stations try to get more money from pay tv providers. For some directv customers this also affects CBS Sports Network & the Smithsonian channel.
We have a clock going at the top of the blog to show you how long the station is off.

Nexstar to make a deal with FOX Television.
Our friends over at FTVLive are reporting that FOX is interested in KDVR/KFCT as well as Q13 (KCPQ) in Seattle & FOX8 (WJW) in Cleveland.
If this goes through, the question is will KWGN stay in the same studio facility's as FOX31 or will Nexstar move them to new facility's?
I guess we get to find out soon...

KREG to be sold to Weigel broadcasting?
Apparently KREG in Glenwood Springs a Heroes & Icons affiliate has been sold for $2 Million to Weigel Broadcasting pending FCC Approval. This will make the station a Heroes & Icons O&O.
KREG is available over the air in Glenwood Springs & Grand Junction. And it is available on DirecTV in the Denver metro area. KREG is considered to be part of the Denver DMA.
If the sale goes through I will update this post.
The stations website is here: kregtv.com/

An FCC Decision will bring Denver TV stations to Durnago, CO & Southwestern Colorado.
https://www.cpr.org/news/story/fcc-decision-will-bring-denver-tv-stations-to-southwest-colorado
Residents in southwest Colorado will soon have access to Denver TV stations, thanks to a ruling this week by the F.C.C. For years the Durango area has only been able to receive Albuquerque TV stations. (KOB 4 NBC, KOAT 7 ABC, KRQE 13 CBS & FOX NEW MEXICO.) The switch to Denver TV Stations happens sometime latter this summer. More info above.
My question is this--wouldn't it make more since for the southwestern area to receive the Pueblo stations? (KOAA, KKTV, KRDO, & KXRM).
I'd love to hear your thoughts on that, drop a comment in comments section or e-mail us here: coloradonewscenter@gmail.com
