Nexstar Media Group, the parent company of KDVR/KFCT, KWGN, KXRM, KREX, & KGJT & Operator of KFQX is in contract nigoations with Dish Network.

Nexstar Media is in contract negotiations with Dish network, if they don't come to an agreement by Noon Wednesday December 2, 2020 there stations could be pulled from Dish network.  Not only will it affect stations here in Colorado, it could affect hundreds of stations nationwide.  (KFQX is owned by Mission Broadcasting, Inc & might not be affected by this depending on if Nexstar negotiates on Mission Broadcasting's behalf).    We will have a clock going for this as well, again just for fun.

9NEWS @ NOON--get's reformatted.

For the first time since April 2009 9NEWS has gone back to a 2 anchor format for 9NEWS@Noon.  Eddie Randle & Erica Lopez will now anchor the Noon news.   Lets hope they stick to just airing packages from NBC's News Channel. It's been years since they have ever really covered much news anyways at noon.

Personally I enjoyed the solo anchor format, it's all they really need at noon, unless they actually will be covering local news.

Colorado Springs Anchor Worries She Exposed Co-Workers to Covid-19

An anchor at KRDO-TV, Heather Skold worries that she has exposed her co-workers to the COVID-19 virus & she is "Overcome with Grief".

Here is the full article from our friends over at TVSPY: https://www.adweek.com/tvspy/colorado-springs-anchor-worries-she-exposed-co-workers-to-covid-19/225712/

With COVID-19 cases on the rise in Colorado as a whole I can't say that I'm surprised by this. And KRDO isn't the first news orgiznation in Colorado to have the virus be an issue in the newsroom, look at KDVR/KFCT & KWGN.    I hope she gets over the virus quickly.   Here are the news reports about it from KRDO: https://krdo.com/news/top-stories/2020/11/09/krdos-heather-skold-tests-positive-for-covid-19/

Scripps buys Ion Media & Ion O&O KPXC-TV 59.

Scripps has purchased Ion Media networks with help from Berkshare Hathaway for $2.65Billion.  Here is the press release from September announcing the sale.

 https://tvnewscheck.com/article/253864/scripps-nears-2-65b-takeover-of-ion-media/

Within days of this announcement Scripps also purchased KCDO-TV (K3).  Now we know what is going to happen with KPXC.  KPXC along with 21 other Ion owned & operated stations are being sold to INYO Broadcast Holdings, LLC.  This is of course dependent on FCC & DOJ approval.     At this time we don't know a lot about INYO broadcast holdings,LLC other than they are owned by investment firm  Methuselah Advisors.

So at some point expect an affiliation switch between the two Denver stations maybe late December or early January.

Also the Grit network will eventually move to either a sub channel of KMGH or KCDO and Ion will be on the main KCDO 3.1 signal.

SO STAY TUNED!!!!!
