While Scripps, acquired KCDO from NewsWeb corp today, they weren't finished. On a national level Scripps acquired ION Media Networks for $2.65 Billion, this includes Ion O&O KPXC-TV in Denver channel 59.
There is no word yet on if Scripps will have to divest KPXC to make the deal official as they would own
On this transaction, as they like to say on newscasts STAY TUNED!
NewsWeb corp has sold station KCDO, K3 to KMGH & KOAA owner Scripps broadcasting, pending FCC approval. K3 already re-airs 7NEWS newscasts so this should fit in with little effort on behalf of scripps.
The question now is what happens with all of the sub-channels on K3 including NewsNet, that will be answered soon. It will also be interesting to see what happens with the K3 studios in Aurora.
FOX31 & Channel 2 weekend Meteorologist Christine Rapp has left the duopoly and is reportedly headed back to Charlotte, NC. (no word on what station yet) Her last day was Sunday August 16th. She joined the duopoly in November 2017 coming up from KKTV in Colorado Springs/Pueblo.
FOX31 & Channel 2 welcome Meteorologist Carley Cassady, she comes from WXII-TV in Winston-Salem, NC.

KOAA News5 has launched a 4PM newscast, it launched Monday September 14th. It bumped ellen to the 3PM slot. It now joins KUSA & sister station KMGH with 4pm newscasts.
