Reporter Sona Gutierrez has left 9NEWS & Channel 20.

What a week it has been here in Denver in regards to all of the staff changes at the Denver TV Stations, well here we go again.  This brings our count to 4.   This time 9NEWS reporter Sonia Gutierrez has left the station.  She is heading to Rocky Mountain PBS (KRMA-TV).   Apparently she wasn't happy about the journalism that was happening or not happening at 9NEWS & Tegna Meda.

H/T to our friends over at FTVLive for this...   More here:https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2021/2/1/taking-a-swipe-at-tegna-on-the-way-out-the-door

KCNC News Director temporarily joing WFOR

CBS4 News Director Tim Wieland is joining CBS4 sounds strange doesn't....   Lets rephrase it.

CBS4 News Director Time Wieland is joining KCNC's sister station CBS4Miami (WFOR) as interim news director, he will oversee both newsrooms from Denver.  Why?? well there was a scandal involving the CBS O&O Management team more precisely CBS Television Stations, Inc management.

It involved racism, sexism  & a CBS Station in New York WLNY-TV (the sister station to WCBS-TV).

The head of CBS Television Stations, Inc made the decision to purchase WLNY-TV with a catch it came with a golf club in the Hampton's. WLNY at that point (9 years ago) was airing old movies and infomercials and wasn't profitable.  It was a $55Million deal, Peter Dunn the head of CBS Television Stations Inc got that golf club with his purchase.

"Just last month, Dunn and another high-level CBS executive joked about the station purchase during a Zoom call. “You mention [W]LNY, I usually call that the acquisition of our golf membership ... I mean TV station,” quipped Bryon Rubin, chief operating officer of the CBS Entertainment Group, according to an audio recording shared with the Los Angeles Times. Dunn chimed in: “That’s paid for itself, and then some.

WLNY’s revenue has shrunk significantly in the years since the acquisition. The arrangement alarmed several CBS executives, who questioned whether Dunn’s acceptance of such a lucrative perk violated the company’s ethics guidelines, which forbid executives from receiving expensive gifts or allowing self-interest to influence company decisions. The matter was flagged for two high-profile law firms investigating alleged misconduct at CBS in late 2018, according to two people familiar with the investigation who declined to comment for fear of reprisal "

THE WFOR NEWS DIRECTOR WAS FIRED LAST WEEK FOR FORKING OVER THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR A DINNER INVITE AT THE GOLF CLUB BY MR. DUNN, EVEN AS WFOR-TV WAS MAKING HUGE CUTS TO IT'S NEWS OPERATION DUE TO LOW AD DOLLARS ROLLING IN.   So now KCNC's Tim Wieland has temporally taken over the ship.

There is more to this but that's a quick rundown, more below.   Part two enplanes what all went down.

KDCO K3 is now Local 3

Beginning Monday January 11th KCDO is now Local 3 and is now a sister station to KMGH Denver7.  After Scrips broadcasting closed on the sale of KCDO.  It will remain an independent station, with the Grit network moving to digital channel 3.2.  That means of course you will need to rescan your tv if you view it over the air with an antenna.

They also have a shiny new logo:
