9NEWS & Channel 20 get a new Meterologist.

Meteorologist & Reporter Laurann Robinson, has joined 9NEWS & Channel 20, she started today as the mid-day meteorologist, she will appear on 9NEWS @ NOON. 

She joins KUSA & KTVD from KETV in Omaha, NE, where she was a morning traffic anchor, reporter & meteorologist, after earning her Broadcast Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University.

Nexstar & Dish Network have reached a multi-year agreement.

 MERRY CHRISTMAS.... 

So Nexstar & Dish Network have reached an agreement, the agreement happened yesterday Christmas Eve.. Nexstar stations were restored at 8:30PM MST to the Dish system.  This ends a 21 Day 3Hour blackout on Dish Network. (The clock has now been removed from our blog).   

In Colorado this deal restores: KDVR, KXRM, KWGN, KREX, & KGJT.

KUSA & KTVD as well as all other Tegna stations are back on DirecTV & AT&T.

 Tegna Media has reached a multi-year agreement with AT&T & DirecTV. Stations were restored around 8 AM MST today.   This ends an 18 Day blackout on DirecTV.  

It was 18 Days, 15 Hours 3Mins according to our counter running at the top of the blog.  (That counter is now gone).   If you have DirecTV you can once again watch 9NEWS & Channel 20.

KDVR, KWGN, KXRM, KREX, & KGJT are off of Dish Network along with Nexstar Stations nationwide. KFQX might also be dark on Dish Network.

Well as of  Thursday at 5PM Colorado viewers have lost some more stations due to a contract dispute. 

This time between Nexstar Media & Dish Network are at odds over compensation.  In the Denver market this means viewers have lost 4 stations between 2 providers (Tegna is also in a dispute with DirecTV & AT&T). 

In Colorado nexstar media owns KDVR, KXRM, KWGN, KREX, & KGJT.    Our clock is also running for this blackout as well.

 This dispute might have also taken Mission Broadcasting's KFQX off the air, but we don't have conformation on that. ( If you know for sure email us & let us know: coloradonewscenter@gmail.com ). 

Mission was involved in a dispute with Dish Network back in September but it was brief, just a few hours.  If it's happening again let us know.

 

 

 

   

 

KUSA & KTVD are off DirecTV & AT&T.

 KUSA & KTVD Are now off of DirecTV as of December 1, 2020 at 5:10PM MST, due to a retrans dispute.   There is no word on how long the blackout may last.  DirecTV has been negotiating with Tegna Media for several weeks, obviously with no agreement.   This affects 68 other stations nationwide too (Including: WXIA, WATL, KING, KONG, WCNC, WZZM & WUSA), so were not alone in this. 

We now have a count up clock going to see how long this lasts. (Just for fun of course). 

If your in northeastern Colorado that means no NFL Football today, (Wednesday Afternoon Football) NBC's coverage of the re-scheduled Steelers/Ravens game is set to start at 1PM MST.

Nexstar Media Group, the parent company of KDVR/KFCT, KWGN, KXRM, KREX, & KGJT & Operator of KFQX is in contract nigoations with Dish Network.

Nexstar Media is in contract negotiations with Dish network, if they don't come to an agreement by Noon Wednesday December 2, 2020 there stations could be pulled from Dish network.  Not only will it affect stations here in Colorado, it could affect hundreds of stations nationwide.  (KFQX is owned by Mission Broadcasting, Inc & might not be affected by this depending on if Nexstar negotiates on Mission Broadcasting's behalf).    We will have a clock going for this as well, again just for fun.

Tegna Media the parent company of 9NEWS & Channel 20 is in nigotations with AT&T & DirecTV.

 9NEWS & Channel 20's parent company Tegna Media is in a re transmission negotiations with AT&T & DirecTV, the current agreement expires at 6:00PM-November 30, 2020.  If the two sides don't come to an agreement by 6pm then KUSA & KTVD will be pulled from DirecTV & AT&T U-Verse systems in Colorado.  This also affects every other Tegna station nationwide.
