Gray Media & E.W. Scrips Company are proposing swapping TV stations across the country & it could have an immediate impact on the Colorado Springs / Pueblo tv market & also a major impact on the Grand Junction / Montrose tv market, lets break down these markets tv players before the changes...
Colorado Springs / Pueblo:
Grand Junction / Montrose:
After these changes take place Gray Media will swap KKCO, KJCT, & KKTV to Scrips in exchange for 2 stations in Twin Falls Idaho (KMVT--CBS & KSVT-LD FOX). No cash will be exchanged by either company as this is structured to be a pure asset swap (TV Stations & Transmitting Facilities). This change will give Scrips a duopoly in all 3 Colorado media markets: Denver, Colorado Springs / Pueblo & Grand Junction / Montrose.
At this time Scrips stations in Denver (KMGH & KCDO) are NOT on the table for any changes.
Colorado could go from a heavy presence of Nexstar stations to an equally heavy presence of Scrips stations, for now STAY TUNED, this will still need DOJ & F.C.C. approval before anything happens, they hope to have this closed however by the 4th quarter of this year.
