The November Sweeps period is over--some newscasts in Denver see double digit declines in viewership in November.
All Denver newscasts saw declines in viewership, some worse than others.
While 9NEWS (KUSA) is still #1 at 10pm it saw a 28% drop year over year, from 3.09% in Nov '16 to 2.23% this November.
FOX31 (KDVR) was down 12% at 9pm, 16% at 9:30pm & 16% at 10pm.
CBS4 (KCNC) was down 20% at 10pm
7NEWS (KMGH) was down 22% at 10pm
KUSA's loss translates to a loss of 15,000 viewers. This loss is because digital devices continue to draw people away from TV newscasts, especially among younger viewers.
NEXT with Kyle Clark saw it's viewership increase with a 2.26 rating.
While KUSA is still #1 in the Denver Market KDVR was a strong #2 during the November sweeps period. Sinclair's takeover of KDVR & KWGN is expected in the 1st quarter of 2018.
